Adults with Down’s Syndrome
- Adults with Down’s syndrome have an average life expectancy of 50-60 years
- About 20 out of 100 adults (20%) with Down’s syndrome will find a job.
- Studies have showed that about 25 out of 100 adults (25%) with Down’s syndrome will develop dementia (such as Alzheimer’s disease) (ref 11). Dementia most commonly occurs in people over 60 years of age but may develop earlier in people with Down’s syndrome.
